MLK Jr Day of Service
January 2015
Thanks so much to each of you for volunteering at Locust Grove Nature Center during the MLK Jr. Day of Service. You truly honored the spirit of the day: A day on, not a day off. With your help, we collected more than 20 bags of trash, 1 bag of recyclables, 2 tires, 1 metal bar and 2 plastic planters. We covered the paths of the Nature Center with wood chips, and we put numerous wheelbarrows of mulch along the to-be-buried dinosaur-replica for young budding paleontologists. Check out the pictures! H20 Summit
March 22, 2014
FOCJC participated in the H20 Summit, a free, family-friendly event that is a lot of fun. Held annually, the Summit introduces residents to their local watershed groups, volunteerism, green exhibitors and watershed improvement activities occurring in their communities. We all learn about stream health and how our everyday actions effect stormwater pollution and our ecosystem. If you missed it this year, we look forward to doing it again next year!
