MLK Day of Service @ Locust Grove Nature Center
Monday, January 16, 2017

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was a pioneer in his efforts to ensure environmental and social justice for all people.  Friends of Cabin John Creek is building on his legacy by participating in the 2017 Martin Luther King National Day of Service.

We are coordinating our Day of Service with the Locust Grove Nature Center, one of the Montgomery County educational park facilities.  If you haven’t already discovered the nature center, it’s a hidden gem on Democracy Boulevard, tucked in between Seven Locks Road and Montgomery Mall.  LGNC has a wonderful (heated) classroom, so we will be able to host our event, come rain or shine, snow or hail.

FoCJC’s goal is to make Cabin John Creek and its watershed a healthy home for native plants and animals and an attractive destination for people who want to enjoy the county’s natural areas.

You can find out more about the challenges facing Cabin John Creek and the watershed, and what you can do to help.
