Board of Director Opportunities

Friends of Cabin John Creek Board of Directors!
 

FoCJc is always looking for committed volunteers to enhance and sustain the watershed through the strategic use of restoration, education, and stewardship programs.

 

Responsibilities of Board Directors

 

As a Board Member, you will be expected to:

  • Understand and support the mission of FoCJC

  • Be familiar with  FoCJC’s purpose, goals, policies, programs, services, strengths and needs

  • Help plan for the organization’s future, on a long-term and short-term basis

  • Bring good will and a sense of humor to the Board’s deliberations

  • Prepare for and participate in Board and committee meetings

  • Attend at least four of the five bi-monthly Board meetings (remote attendance possible)

  • Participate in one activity and one ad hoc committee per year:

        - Activities might include: publications, school activities, speakers' bureau

        - Ad hoc committees might include: communications, grants, special events

  • Assist in identifying potential partners

  • Assist in recruiting new board directors, particularly looking for people of

        achievement who can make significant contributions to the work of the

        board and the organization’s progress

We will work toward a future in which, as a result of strong community partnerships, Cabin John Creek and its watershed is a healthy home for native plants and animals and an attractive destination for people who want to enjoy the area’s natural areas.
